Russian Word of the Day: -нибудь

-нибудь is a particle that shows uncertainty. It can be added to some words. Let’s look at the examples:

что-нибудь - something

кто-нибудь - someone

куда-нибудь - [going] somewhere

где-нибудь - [is] somewhere

откуда-нибудь - from somewhere

какой-нибудь — some

The particle itself doesn't change, but the first part of such compound word can be conjugated.

Кто-нибудь, помогите! - Somebody, help!

Отдай это кому-нибудь. - Give it to somebody.

Расскажи мне что-нибудь новое. - Tell me something new.

Мне бы какую-нибудь юбку. - I need some skirt.
