Wow, as a person who speaks no Russian (but hears it every day), the language sounds remarkably different when it's said slowly and annunciated precisely. It's hard to explain what it is, exactly, but I think it might be the greater emphasis on the vowels. I enjoyed listening. Thanks. :)
^^ For me as a Russian it's always interesting to know how foreigner perceive my mother tongue.I heard there were many Russian tourists in Lappeenranta, because it's so close to the border. Russians love shopping in Finland :)
They do love shopping here. :P My Finnish class is also composed of about half Russians, half other nationalities. I hear them speak in Russian quite often, and I try to listen to get a feel for how it sounds so that I can really focus on learning it one day. They also teach me a thing or two sometimes! But it was very interesting to hear everything said so precisely in this way. :)
